Principal
Mrs. Sharon Reinig has
been at Manning Oaks Elementary School since it opened in 1998
and is beginning her eighth year as principal.
Mrs. Reinig earned her
Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Special
Education from Wartburg College and the University of Northern
Iowa. After moving to the Boston area, Mrs. Reinig earned a Master of Science degree in
Elementary Education/Special Education with a concentration in
Applied Behavior Analysis was awarded in 1981 from Simmons
College Boston MA. She also earned a second masters degree, a Master of
Education degree in School Administration and Supervision from Rivier College, Nashua NH in 1996. Mrs. Reinig
holds a State of Georgia certificate in Educational Leadership
P-12. She is also certified in Elementary Education P-8,
Learning Disabilities P-12, and
Interrelated Special Education P-12.
Mrs. Reinig taught special
education for 12 years at the elementary, middle and high
school levels in Massachusetts prior to beginning her
administrative career. She held the positions of Assistant
Principal and Director of Special Education for the
Hollis/Brookline NH School District. In 1993 she moved to the
Atlanta area with her husband, Craig, and daughter, Morgan, a
senior at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. Mrs. Reinig was an assistant
principal at Findley Oaks Elementary School for 4 years before
moving to Manning Oaks as assistant principal the year the
school opened. Mrs. Reinig became the principal of Manning
Oaks Elementary in 2000.
In her spare time, Mrs. Reinig
loves to read, garden and spend time with
her family. |

Assistant Principal
Mr.
Christopher Askew is the new Assistant Principal at Manning
Oaks Elementary School. A native of Syracuse, New York, Mr.
Askew is the youngest of three. He survived childhood with
two older sisters, although they often credit themselves for
his positive attributes. Mr. Askew’s parents recently moved
to the South and now reside in Charlotte, North Carolina.
After high school Mr. Askew attended
Tuskegee University and in 1994, received his Bachelor of
Science degree in Sociology. He enrolled in Emory University
a year later and received a Master of Arts in Teaching degree
in May, 1996.
In the fall of 1996, Mr. Askew started
his career in education with the Fulton County School System.
During his five years as a classroom teacher, he was named
Teacher of the Year, appointed to Fulton County’s Expert
Teacher Program and Superintendent’s Teacher Council, as well
as served on numerous committees. In 2001, he was promoted to
a Curriculum Support Teaching Position at Hillside
Elementary. While working as a CST, Mr. Askew received his
Leadership Add-On from the University of Georgia in 2004. Mr.
Askew’s academic achievements coupled with his teaching
experiences have helped to propel him into his current
position at Manning Oaks Elementary. |
